Wellness Counselling Centre for Youth Canada (WCCYC) is looking for five energetic individuals to join our team as Child and Youth Workers. You will work under the direct supervision of the Program director or manager. Child and Youth workers will use the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to help children and youth follow through with instructions, stay on task, and develop effective coping strategies. The responsibilities may include:
Child and Youth Worker
Job Location: Greater Toronto Area
Job Types: $15 – $20/hr. Part-time
- Previous experience working with children and youth; experience working with children and youth with special needs is considered an asset
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate professionally with parents/guardians
- Working one-to-one and in small groups with children
- Monitoring each child’s progress
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate professionally with parents/guardians
- Monitor data collection
- Chart progress and provide parent coaching
- Ensure clients receive the interventions needed to meet the full extent of the services authorized Liaising with parents on an ongoing basis
- Working at the Centre or in clients’ homes. Has the flexibility to work regular business hours, some evenings and weekends
- An ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Eager to learn and accept feedback for continuous improvement
Required Qualifications:
- Be able to communicate in Chinese and English
- Senior college or 3rd/4th year of university students or graduates from Social Work, Psychology, or Behaviour Therapy Programs
- Experience working with children and youth preferred
- Must be able to work as a team player
- Ability to follow instructions (verbal and written)
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Valid Police Vulnerable Sector Check
- Valid Driver’s License preferred
