Sina is experienced in working with families with youth and children. She is good at
dealing with anxiety (social, academic, separational etc.), depression, OCD, school
refusal and other emotional dysregulations. She offers helpful strategies in parenting,
communication, siblings as well as parent-child relationships.
Background and Education
Sina Zha is a registered social worker, and she completed her Bachelor of Social Work
at Toronto Metropolitan University with a minor in psychology and accomplished Master
of Social Work at University of Toronto in 2009 specializing in children and families.
She’s trained and experienced in a number of therapy approaches, including DBT, ACT,
CBT for children and Youth, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy as well as
Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) approach.
Work Experience
Beside counselling work, Sina is also a certified instructor for Circle of Security (an
attachment-based parenting course aimed at improving parent-child relationships and
parenting capacity). She’s been offering mindfulness programs for children and other
parenting workshops since 2016 as a family support worker in a community health
center in Etobicoke. She’s interested in Yoga practice and became a certified mindful
yoga teacher in 2020. She has been offering mommy and baby mindful yoga classes in
the community and provides postpartum supports to moms. She’s passionate in
planting seeds of mindfulness to families so they will have tools to face daily challenges
and stress.
